This is the homepage for my new Berserka personal project. A game my great grandma Nowakowski had a huge part in helping me accomplish. My grandma Irene had me once make a webpage for it and others.
This is the start of my Crypt / Catacombs Test and I need to get my lights configured right. I'm going with my grandmas suggestions again like I did last time.
I'm doing a simple little FPS game with one level based on the Crypt called Berserka again but in GODOT 4.4.1. Basically, I need to get a few things setup and this will help and I want to check pout a few assets in the assetlib. those FPS hands were screaming retro and I need to test lights, textures and shaders.
I made a bunch of progress last night and got most of my vocal audio done for Beserka and my time in GODOT 4.4.1. I also remember a few things I did. Below are a few things going in to better help me manage and test things.

Berserka Wall Torch: Update 4/24 2:41 AM
I'm working on this and having a blast again. It's the flame holder for the crypt. I have to angle the mount now and add more detail. It started out as a cube. I'm getting my enjoyment factor back again. Its a crucial part of the game levels so I'm adding the detail I want in it.

Update 4/24 2:41 AM
I started work on the crypt level builder assets. I'm still working on the design for the pre-segment caching to make up for my slower hardware. This post is now the single home for the progress of my recreation of Berserka: Unleashed X. I have to go back and cleanup my blog when I get time to give it some structure as things return to me on my formats I like. I got to throw it in GODOT and adjust the Blender grid scale, so it snaps perfectly in GODOT. The bevels won't be added until I get the GODOT snap scale from Blender to GODOT perfect, then I will make T-Sections, Corners and a Hall or large room. I can probably remake my grandma Irene's "Gate Keeper" game just not in DOS. Which is also a Polish video game from the 80's! Her video game intellectual property ownership rights belong the museum. I also liked her and my great grandma's flowers.
I have to make room for the Ceiling Fire Chandelier that's what I'm doing now. I got done figuring out textures and scales and what parts I need to separate into another material to fix the distortion. This is also the one I'm working on with lighting. I added in the start of the candles. My grandpa Connor thought it was a nice touch back then. My grandma ended up being right go with what we had worked out.
Berserka Level Section: Update 5/2/25 7:30 PM
The skeleton is the reference point of just how much playable space is in each straight section.
Update: I added the recess for the wall torches. I haven't even shaded the textures yet.
I'm getting ready to sculpt the stones on the floor and ceiling kicker. I got a little bit of mesh cleanup to do straightening edges. My grandpa Connor use to help remind me of my requirements for myself. that was one of them. Even though it would still texture right in wireframe overlay mode it irritated me. Also I need to adjust the name plate above the crypt body vault. Secret passages and all!!!! It has to do with the candles!!
Time period reference and side notes:
I also Polished my grandma's game "Crypt Keeper" that was her other one. That one uses an organized stone texture like she wanted done to it. She helped keep the con-artist from defrauding our polish ethnic advancements and achievements. Thats why she did both! Thats actually what was going on, she went back to maintaining the flowers at the museum her and her mom grew after she got them where she wanted them. My grandpa Connor made a Celtic game and later a few others. things got started with me over a stupid lighthouse 3d model and the museum lawyers removed me from the situation others were instigating family feuds to cause division again. The lawyers told my grandpa his sister got her wish I wasn't not going to be able to inherit things from him. I limited contact for a while with him due to requitements for the museum and threats to it. Basically, what people pulled. I removed a Celtic battle axe they thought was an entry into a fraud attempt or could lead to one so I removed it. Once it was proven it wasn't I was allowed to honor my Celtic heritage again. My grandpa was excited I was allowed to use it again he helped me model it accurately in a way I wanted. We were also allowed to interact again it would just be monitored again. They put restrictions on helping with his own personal developments. He actually succeeded on his own and the lawyers asked him how he felt doing it on his own. He wasn't a stupid man and had artistic talent. Something I asked them to intervene just once in personal family affairs as he listened to them and I was right about it. That one act resolved a lot of issues between us, so they authorized a one time arrangement of financing for him and he agreed to it being a one-time only financing via the museum and me. My grandma didn't have that authorization she was told that in a court room numerous times, plus her accounts were locked in on specific duties and requirements she agreed to for museum exhibit loans.
Berserka Chandelier: Update 04/25/25 12:31 PM
My Great Grandma Nowakowski helped me with this in Rhino 3D which I originally did everything in.

Progress Update: 04/26/25 :1105:AM
I have a lot of double assets still to make. The following is a list of assets I still have to make.
- Column
Berserka Trap: Update 5/2/25 10:30 PM
This is the trap that spawns in the Berserka crypt. These spring up from the dirt floor and secret passage traps after opened. This is Berserka Trap spike version 6.
Berserks FPS Arms: Update 04/28/25 4:25AM
The idea came from my great grandma Nowakowski to help keep me in scale in Rhino 3D and since i could see my arms more clearly in scale naturally that's how I started and they were connected to keep my human 3D model in scale.
Classic Style, then you use to model your character off your arms when people wanted multiplayer mode!!!! I use to also put a ball on top for the camera alignment! Later became the head! Berserka is Polish video game!! Just like "Gate Keeper", "Crypt Keeper" and MERC!! Berserka is based off my grandma Irene's from Buffalo, NY and what I wanted in it and how it lead up to MERC!
I'm going with high poly arms these are 73,008 triangles. Right now, I'm sculpting his gloves. I actually prefer to make my own rig and this is fun again. He also has throwing knives on his arms! Looks like he will again!
The Berserka Arms Rig works finally. Now I got to fine tune it and adjust it. Classic game play is going to be fun again. No looking down or up just classic fun! Forwards, Backwards, Left and Right and Rotate in a circle.
Berserka Assault Rifle: Update: 04/29/25 1:36 AM
I am currently modeling the assault rifle for Berserka / MERC "The BMAR-78"
Assault rifle. It's a work in progress this will be the main gun. I'm still modeling the gun.
Assault rifle. It's a work in progress this will be the main gun. I'm still modeling the gun.
I am already at texture distortion and other things. The first time wasn't as annoying as this time. this beard is itchy and annoying as heck. I also remember my grandma asking me if I was going to be able to remember that that isn't going to be this nathan. Mine you press N!
Berserka Celtic Battle Axe: Update: 04/29/25 8:25 PM
I'm going to add my Celtic Battle Axe again. Here it is and it needs polishing cleaned up and textured. I use to make these 3D models with my grandpa Connor it's not easy to do without him, I really liked the ones that he 3D modelled.
Update: I'm working on details now that I picked out a few base textures to bring my ethnic battle axe to life again!
My grandpa connor liked when i did this part. He said that looks good now it needs celtic designs nathan. Its different in the final version I'm going with the early version for now. In this version there is just a etch recess on the blade for celtic designs. This is the early form me and my great grandma nowakowski discussed and researched in books ourselves. The actual final design plays off the S in Berserka! It's how me and my great grandma nowakowski spent time together. All this is Surface scatter texturing none of this is UV Unwrapped yet i am still working non the spots it will distort.
Berserka Combat Knife: Update 5/1/25 11:25 AM
A work in progress to get my own base knife modeled. I'm dialing in the scaling after doing it bigger zoomed out basically and making it easier in tight locations. It's always been my practice the idea came from my great grandma on Rhino 3D. She had a lot of ideas. Most I already had in agreement with her. My new Boolean tool is a dream come true! I still got to add what me and my great grandma nowakowski called polish gator teeth on the blade.
Berserka Throwing Knife: Update 5/1/25 6:10 PM
My great grandma had me do it a certain way I wanted to do it myself as I was right it would work. It was based off the Berserka Combat Knife blade with a modified handle and no guard. A process my grandma Irene used I her own games. My grandma Irene was Using Rhino 3D to make sprites for her 2.5 D games.
Berserka Brass Knuckles: Update 5/1/25 ll:24 AM
These are based off the ones my Great Grandma Nowakowski made in the machine shop herself for the game I was a kid then she helped me make my own. We didn't like any other ones. I said different and she said agreed. So, these came to be. My great grandma Nowakowski designed these with me and since I couldn't use the machine to make them she did and then talked it out with the lawyers and I got to with assistance.
These are also my MERC brass knuckles!! I always did things in twos my great grandma use to say little time make it go faster nathan! It has to have a engine block look, it's our final design me and my great grandma agreed on. Like you're getting hit with an engine block.
I still got to do my polish cleanup and add some more polish into the model to really polish it!! I'm almost ready to scale it down. these have to be shaded flat, or they lose their geometry and look.
Berserka Soundtrack: Update 5/1/25 5:15 PM
BYOS( Bring Your Own Soundtrack)
I remember now what we discussed as far as music legality!! Thank you! The soundtrack will be user editable again! It's how I fixed the issue last time. This is finalized for this one. Also, the reason my great grandma Nowakowski didn't like my grandpa Connor. He was my grandpa, so she tolerated him.
I remember do not under any circumstances change from developing on my Lenovo ThinkPad T420 its mine and so ae things developed on it, they might try to pull it again!
